Feature: Curating Creatives / Poppy Fitzpatrick

A blog that I’d like to put out there, simply because it has some amazing content that everyone should check out, is Curating Creatives! My good friend Poppy and I coincidentally chose to study the same degree this year, and it’s been a blessing to have a familiar face to confide in and whinge about uni with. Funnily enough, we also unknowingly chose the same blog topic for our assignment; to showcase young artistic talent. So how could I not feature her blog?

My favourite blog post of hers is Living Art, which features Zoe Ingoldby-Craig and her fascinating method of painting directly onto her subject’s skin.

“Using acrylic paints, a roughly textured technique and by following the natural curves of the body, the subject is transformed into a deceptive piece of still artwork.”

If you like my blog you’ll love Curating Creatives, because they’re very similar (great minds really must think alike). But different people are featured and therefore there’s something different and interesting to see.

Poppy herself also takes some pretty amazing photographs, her main subjects being her friends, nature, and the stunning South Australian coastal scenery. I absolutely love all of them and Poppy’s talent deserves more recognition. I would love to do a whole blog post just about Poppy and her photographs, but being a uni student in the final weeks of semester two I am already drowning in work. Hopefully something for the future after all this madness is over. Her beautiful photographs make my blog look pretty and I enjoy that a lot.

Too check out more of Poppy’s work, have a gander through her VSCO album or Instagram.
